I blinked, and half a year disappeared without speed bump to be found!! I tried to stay active on social media places as well as real places to keep up with the fast pace of the world and everything happening. I did not want to miss a thing. One thing I noticed was the speed that people wished a week away. Always the collective contempt for Mondays that took on a 'mob effect' ....it seemed to snowball into a thunderous "I hate Mondays" chant. I have started actively searching for some small morsel of 'newness' for Monday; a small cheer for the beginning of the week that could lead to a change of attitude toward Monday. As if a Monday could be that first step into an awakening of a new weekly adventure of the hunt for something to celebrate about a week in one's life, as opposed to the first plod into a trudge of surviving those five days until the joys of an impending weekend......too far off to bring a glimmer of light to a heavily burdened Monday. Tuesday passes by, barely acknowledged, and then Wednesday. Ahh, Wednesday. Like a roller coaster ride click clacking to the summit of a great high hill, Wednesday is repeatedly referred to as hump day so often, one can almost forget the almost archaic weekday name that climbs in after the near invisible Tuesday. Like a speeding bullet, Wednesday practically ends on the other side of Thursday, a day so caught into the rush to the weekend that it almost seems skipped! Friday happens like an explosion, the day that the whole week was meant for, just to make it to Friday because it starts THE weekend, the nugget of worth to every week. Nothing says Friday more than the near mindless driving at Friday evening rush hour as one can witness a myriad individuals behind the wheel of a vehicle whose mind is clearly focused on "it's the weekend and it's MINE, all MINE, and no one is getting in my way!!" ..... Instead of focusing on the operation of the vehicle. Of course anyone can relate to that train of thought, because the hours, even minutes, of the precious weekend time needs to be drank in and savored to the fullest because in a few short hours..... There it is again... Monday. Time to start rushing the herds through the week again to get to the prized weekend. And suddenly a half a year is gone. I am making a resolution starting today to change my thought process starting with Mondays. I want to savor each day of the week, so I can start putting some speed bumps into my week. I am done rushing a week to the weekend. My focus is going to be to enjoy each and every day for the adventure I can find in the day, the hour, or even the minute to make it last a little longer.
